Traffic Forecasts

In 2019, the Highway 55 Corridor Coalition conducted traffic forecasts and crash analysis.

• Traffic volumes along Hwy 55 corridor are highest in Plymouth area (eastern portion of the corridor) and taper as one travels west.
• Selected urban areas experience higher volumes, which is expected.
• Most segments at or below capacity under both existing and future conditions.
• Future volumes (year 2040) may exceed capacity for existing two-lane segment between Arrowhead Drive and CR 19. This segment is the Coalition’s current priority project.
• Access management and land use planning will help to preserve the corridor.
