In 2019, the Highway 55 Corridor Coalition conducted traffic forecasts and crash analysis-1,931 crashes reported along the corridor between October 1, 2009 – October 31, 2019 (10 years)
- Highway 55 Corridor from I-494 in Plymouth to the western city limits of Annandale
- The highest density of crashes (all crashes) over a ten year period occurred within the cities of Plymouth and Buffalo.
- Most crashes occurred at:
- Intersections (69%)
- On a clear day (61%)
- The predominant manner of collision were:
- Rear end crash (47%)
- Angle crashes (19%)
On the segment of Highway 55 between Annandale and I-494, from 2011 through 2015, there were: * 991 crashes
* 331 injury accidents
* 10 fatalities From 2013-2017 there were 1,088 crashes and from 2018-2022 there were 888 crashes along the Highway 55 Corridor.
